“A Disaster at Sea” by J.M.W. Turner

Guaranteed first class seats

On luxurious lifeboats

For the lucky ones

Complacently cocky

Until they’re tossed into the open sea

Kicking and screaming with pompous fury

Their breaths wasted on huffing and puffing

While others get on with treading water

I think these lines cover a multitude of situations, There are those in life who blow hot air, while others just get on and do the right thing.

    I enjoyed reading this.

  2. A promptless piece. I love when you just go for it. And, I absolutely loved these lines, Mags: “Complacently cocky

Until they’re tossed into the open sea

Kicking and screaming with pompous fury

Their breaths wasted on huffing and puffing”

    I agree with Stella.
